The escapement holds the train, releases one tooth at a time, and hands the oscillator an impulse. Which escapement a watch has decides how it feels, how it sounds, and how it wears. It does not decide the rate.

How these papers are kept

The clock here is an issue, not a feed. Issue 01 is dated and its proposition is stated above. Objects are definitions and carry no issue number, because a definition does not change. Notes carry the issue they appeared in and the date they were written, because a note is a judgement made on a day.

Every page carries the same four-cell card, and the fourth cell is the lift angle. It is not a reading; it is the disclosure that makes the other three usable. A rate, an amplitude and a beat error with no angle are three numbers about an unknown watch.
